Always a favourite, this walk takes in some of the haunts enjoyed by Thomas Hardy whilst courting Emma. He met his wife to be at The Rectory at St Juliot when he was an architect working on plans for the Church tower.

Listen to poetry readings and references to ‘A Pair of Blue Eyes’ at strategic points along this lovely route from the harbour, right up the Valency valley to visit St Juliot’s Church. Eat your packed lunch in the Rectory Gardens with Tea or Coffee courtesy of the owners. Afterwards trek across fields to the South West Coast Path to return to Boscastle. The coastal part of this walk is strenuous, so some Hardy fans may prefer to return to Boscastle under their own steam the way they came via valley.
