Ben becoming a chef was a bit of an accident. He really wanted to become a golf pro and needed to raise money and found a job in a fine dining restaurant, Le Talbooth in Suffolk. Little did he know at the time that he would end up staying for seven years, eventually serving an apprenticeship in the kitchen.

Seeing the finesse, the energy and emotion that went into every dish started his own passion for creating great food. As well as great dishes, Ben's passion for great wines (especially South African) was ignited there too.

Holidays in Cornwall persuaded Ben that this was the place to live and work. Ben's Cornish Kitchen has become a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike. Ben is excited to be opening a new upstairs dining area in May.
