It's here! Walking Week 2013 programme announced.....

Welcome to the 6th Boscastle Walking Week, an intimate event run by local people that has grown in popularity over the years. It's good to welcome new and returning walkers who take pleasure in this beautiful part of north Cornwall.

In addition to an extensive programme of walks, we have also organised a number of other events including workshops on picture framing and wool, an exhibition of cloam oven baking at the Old Post Office, Tintagel and a tour of the Boscastle Pottery.

And, as in previous years, we have organised a number of meal deals, giving you a chance to relax, eat and enjoy the company of fellow walkers. Some of these need to be booked in advance.

Supplies for your packed lunches can be purchased from Cornish Stores, Barnecutts Bakery and the National Trust cafe. Several cafes, tea rooms and pubs will also be open to serve lunches. We also have a great range of independent gift and clothing shops in the village. If we hear of any special offers we’ll put them on the website nearer the time.

The Walking Week this year is being organised by Sally Searle, who will be familiar to many regulars. Sally, together with husband Chris and daughter Anna, runs the Old Rectory B&B at St Juliot which, in 2012, was voted the Greenest B&B in Britain for promoting low impact holidays and focusing on homegrown produce. A busy lady…!

Sally is taking over from Walking Week stalwart Denise Tillinghast, who has led the event with great energy and enthusiasm since it began in 2008. Huge thanks to Denise for all her hard work over the years.
